President of Pakistan Chinese Enterprises’ Association Visits SUFAIC for Project Negotiation
In order to actively respond to the “One Belt, One Road” initiative and promote friendly collaboration with Pakistan, on October 18th, 2018, Sino-US Food and Agriculture Innovation Center (SUFAIC) invited Mr. Wang Zihai, President of Pakistan Chinese Enterprises’ Association, and Mr. NASSIR MAHMUD KASURI, Director of the Beacon House Group of Pakistan, for a visit and project negotiation.
The delegation watched the video of SUFAIC, and visited the exhibition hall to detailed learn about the main functions and service areas of SUFAIC after their arrival. A detailed discussion was then held in the conference room of SUFAIC.
At the meeting, Director Fan Changcheng of SUFAIC first introduced SUFAIC team to the Pakistan guests, and briefly introduced the projects incubated by SUFAIC including Food Innovation Works, Qatar Project, Senegal Peanut Project and Comprehensive Utilization of Biomass Project.
Mr.NASSIR MAHMUD KASURI, Director of Pakistani Beacon House Group, briefed the the current status of agriculture development in Pakistan, pointing out that the soil and water in Pakistan are highly alkaline, and the local greenhouse planting and food processing are still primitive and rough. In view of this problem, the two parties had a warm discussion, and finally reached an cooperation intention that depending on the expert and technology resources of SUFAIC, Beacon House Group will collaborate with SUFAIC on constructing greenhouses and testing field equipped with modernized agricultural machinery in Pakistan, and trial planting the high quality fruits and vegetable varieties of China. The testing field and greenhouses will be served as a demonstration farm to be promoted and duplicated in Pakistan so as to solve the problems plaguing agriculture industry in Pakistan.
Given that Pakistan is one of the most important participants of “One Belt, One Road ” initiative, there is much room for collaboration between SUFAIC and Pakistani Beacon House Group. As a big agricultural country, Pakistan’s agriculture is still primitive, with plenty of room for improvement. Depending on its own expert and technology advantages, SUFAIC will make every effort to play its role as a platform to promote the transformation and industrialization of its advanced technical resources in Pakistan.
On the morning of October 18th, 2018, the delegation also visited greenhouses in Shouguang Modern Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Base of China Railway Oriental Agriculture to learn about advanced planting technology, drip irrigation technology and the cost of greenhouse construction.
